The answer is simple: Georgia’s defensive front. No, it won’t be JT Daniels, because yes, the mailman will still be starting. No, it won’t be some crazy 200 yard game from George Pickens or James Cook. Georgia’s defensive front will be the same dominant front that we’ve been watching all year. Kirby and Lanning seemed to do way too much vs Alabama to TRY to confuse the Heisman trophy winning QB, but Michigan doesn’t have near the talent on offense, or the IQ at QB that Bama does. So it’s back to the trenches, and a game that has to be won in the trenches shall be DOMINATED by them junkyard dawgs. Dean, Wyatt, Davis, and Walker are in store for monster games. Don’t give up on them dawgs just yet, I got a strong feeling we’ll see Bama one more time…
As the college football season is winding down, the LSU-Kansas State matchup on the 4th of January is one that could set up well for avid sports betters like myself…
As of the time I am writing this, Kansas State is a 7.5 point favorite against an SEC team, while the over/under is 47.5. I like both the spread, over/under, and hell, maybe the outright win by LSU in this game.
Over/Under 47.5: My pick: Under 47.5, LSU is without its top two string QB’s as a result of transfer and injury, and Kansas State hasn’t had over 300 yards on offense since the US landed on the moon. This will be a defensive battle that could very well go under 30 points. I like the under all day long.
My Second favorite pick in this game has to be LSU +7.5, to me that’s just too many points for Kansas State, I think LSU at least keeps this game within 3 or 4 if not outright wins the game.
We’ll see how these picks go, you can check out the rest of my picks for CFB and the NFL right here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/60470031
We’re gonna keep this short, sweet, simple, and to the point. Georgia beats Michigan in the orange bowl by keeping Michigan’s DE’s away from ball, not turning the ball over more than once, having success (5+ yards) on first downs, and controlling the LOS which would keep Michigan’s rushing attack from controlling the game. After watching film of this Michigan defense, it’s easy to see they are coached well and have extremely good athletes on that side of the ball.
Let’s start by pointing out Heisman finalist Aidan Hutchinson, who is as good as it gets in the country for any defensive player. If UGA can figure out creative ways to keep him out of the game and away from the ball, Georgia’s offense will have plenty of success. Whether that’s throwing quick screens or passes to get the ball out of Stetson’s hands quickly, or using the TE’s to block and release to help the tackles, I’m sure Monken has a plan to avoid being eaten up all night by Michigan’s edge rushers, and only time will tell if they succeed.
To the turning the ball over point, Stetson just simply can’t make stupid decisions like we saw vs Alabama in the SEC Championship. If it’s not there, throw it away, don’t force the football anywhere. It’s that simple, and of course the defense forcing a few turnovers would help as well.
Controlling the LOS: it’s no secret that UGA’s front seven is arguably the best in the country. And personally, I don’t think Michigan’s offense is powerful enough to go 75 yards down the field every drive against the best front seven in the country, for 60 minutes straight. If Kirby, Lanning and company keeps the defense simplified, unlike what they did against Alabama where they tried to do too much, UGA’s defense will have plenty of success. I haven’t watched Michigan much this year, but from what I’ve seen, you cannot convince me that Michigan will win a football game in which they are forced to throw the ball to catch up. If UGA gets ahead by 10 points, this game is over. We have to start fast and keep that foot on the pedal all night long.
Prediction: Georgia 31, Michigan: 21
Georgia adds to its historic defensive class with another 5⭐️ addition in edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr out of Florida. The star player should and will make an immediate impact in Athens and will be an NFL prospect in a few short years. Go Damn Dawgs.
Rumors are starting to circulate that 5🌟 Travis Hunter could be involved in a 1 Million dollar NIL deal with Barstool Sports founder and CEO, Dave Portnoy. Hearing that the deal has to do with some sort of documentary about the nations number one player going to play for Jackson State. More to come. This is HUGE and changing the narrative for the way recruiting is going in college football.
There is no official word yet, but the nations number 1 overall recruit could be flipping his commitment from FSU to play in the FCS, yes, you read that right, for Jackson State and Deion Sanders. This would make history if true and is being reported by several people. More to come.
The answer is short, sweet, and simple: no. While Kirby can normally never be doubted when it comes to recruiting blue chip athletes, Hunter is one of the most loyal commitments to his school of anyone in the country. Don’t get your hopes up on this one Dawg fans, the chances are very very slim. But, Wednesday is setting up to be a BIG day for #DawgNation. Number 1 class in the country coming soon 👀
Lanning officially headed to Oregon
UGA defensive coordinator Dan Lanning has officially been hired by Oregon to become their next head coach, per multiple sources. Not sure whether he will coach #UGA through the playoffs, but UGA opens up against Oregon for the 2022 season. Will be interesting to see who Kirby promotes to DC.
With reports surfacing that Dan Lanning may be out of UGA to head to Oregon, that leaves a void on UGA’s staff at the defensive coordinator position. To which Kirby should have to look no further than the coaches we already have on staff, I can’t imagine a 2022 defense that is not led by either Glenn Schumann, Will Muschamp, or both in “co-defensive coordinator” roles. I think the smartest hire here is to promote Schumann and bring up Muschamp to an on field role, but that question will have to play itself out most likely after the season ends. Oregon also still hasn’t OFFICIALLY announced Lanning as head coach, so there’s that, also, who will Lanning bring with him from UGA’s staff? Schumann? Tray Scott? Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Georgia-Clemson is set to be one of the biggest matchups of the 2021 college football season. With that being said, there are two interesting betting lines to keep an eye on, one that favors Clemson:
GA Moneyline +155: Even if I wasn’t an avid UGA fan, I still believe JT Daniels and company get it done in Charlotte that opening weekend. This is a perfect opportunity for UGA and College Football fans to cash in and make some $$
Over 52: All the talk leading up to this game will be surrounding the defenses, but these are two offenses that can really score some points, and with it being the first game, and all the screws still a little loose on the defensive side of the ball, I’m expecting both offenses to rack up some points. This is by far my favorite bet of this game.
