Legendary former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden has announced his diagnosis of a terminal medical condition, but states “I am at peace.”
One of the greatest coaches to ever coach this game, under Coach Bowden, from 1987-2000, Florida State won 10 games or more every single season and never finished ranked outside of the top 5. In those 14 seasons they won 2 national titles and 11 bowl games. Get well, Coach.
There’s a new #1 LB in the country, and he just so happens to be a future Bulldog. Malaki Starks is now rated by 247 Sports as the #8 player nationally and #1 LB, although it has been reported he will play safety for Kirby Smart and the Dawgs. A player that will make a day 1 impact between the hedges.
UGA graduate and sensational former ESPN reporter Maria Taylor has announced she is leaving ESPN after an agreement on a contract extension could not be reached. She is expected to join NBC in a similar role.
You lost a good one ESPN… Go Damn Dawgs and go make #DawgNation proud Maria!
On September 4th, one of the biggest games of the year in college football will take place, and here’s why Georgia will leave Charlotte with a W:
1. An experienced JT Daniels: That’s it, a comfortable QB who is in his second year in the same system, with the same players around him, with the same offensive coordinator. 300+ passing yards in this game and 3000+ on the year is statistics I think are very much the expectation and will be achieved. If Georgia makes a run at a national title it will be because the infamous QB had an amazing season, he’s got first round pick and Heisman candidate written all over him this season.
2. Full coaching staff back & Kirby time to prepare: It’s no secret that UGA has one of the best coaching staffs all around in the country, with both coordinators returning, and the position coaches doing the same, I’d expect more consistency from the players and zero to very little errors on both sides of the ball. If Matt Luke can get that talented O-Line playing consistently, look out for Georgia Football this year because they will be ROLLING on both sides of the ball, and that starts September 4th…
Georgia fans were nothing short of astatic last summer when UGA released these alternate uniforms, but now the question arises, will UGA continue to suit up in these in 2021, as these represented the 40 year anniversary of Georgia’s national championship win in 1980… I guess only time will tell if the white alternates will live on, or if they are retired and will be replaced… #GoDawgs
As many of you know I’ve been heavily invested in anything related to Georgia Football on Twitter over the past 5 years or so. I built @UGARecruitNews to 15k+ before it was acquired by Dawg Post and then started @UGARecruiting20 from which you are reading this post.
I’ll keep this short, sweet, and to the point, I’m limited on Twitter to a certain amount of characters, and there are instances all the time in which I need to write more about a particular player or coach or the team or anything to do with UGA football, this will be my outlet for that. I hope you enjoy, stay tuned, there is much more to come!
